*All About Me*
Hello! My name is Veronica Bilas and I teach first grade, in the Hive, at Sacred Heart of Jesus School. I have been teaching here since 1999.
My husband and I have three children who are all grown up and married. We have 6 grandchildren! When everyone is home, our house is one crazy place, but it is always filled with good food, love and laughter!
When I am not teaching, or working on ways to make school engaging and fun, I can be found trying to keep up with technology, reading all kinds of books, cooking (especially Eastern European foods), gardening and singing . When I am cooking or baking, I enjoy using recipes that my mother passed on to me. I have always tried to keep my family traditions alive, pass them on to my own children and share them with my classroom children. My faith and my heritage are very important to me and I try to help my students understand that every one of us has an important story to tell, about where we came from and who helped us get to where we are today.
The children in my classroom are known as the "busy bees" because we work hard together, to make our "hive" a place where everyone can feel part of a loving classroom family. My students learn that everything that we do is for God.
Please visit often and see what the buzz is in 1B!
